Last year, TIG Entertainment pulled out all the stops as they presented the 1st Annual King of Diamonds Take Over during Memorial Day weekend in Miami, FL. Appointed National Director for Big H Entertainment.

Big H Entertainment appoints the CEO of Coming Attractions Promotions, Arlinda Garrett, as their National Director. While in this position Arlinda will be responsible for working with the artists signed to the label, i.e. developing their projects at radio, devising effective street promotion strategy’s  and improving upon visual marketing. With over 20 years of industry experience and her reputation as a top selling retailer, the queen of radio once again has shown that hard work and the path that she has taken in the world of Music has paid off.

What is the Role of a Publicist




A lot of artist, authors, models and business owners turn to the art of Public Relations to garner more awareness for their brand, however a lot of times, they are requesting their publicist to do things that are not in their job description or they do not truly understand the role of their publicist.

There are several different roles that a publicist can play however the most popular is simple publicity.


Below is the definition of a Publicist:

A publicist is a person whose job is to generate and manage publicity for a public figure, especially a celebrity, a business, or for a work such as a book, film or album. Most top-level publicists work in private practice, handling multiple clients.

In the world of celebrities, unlike agents or managers, publicists typically take a monthly fee for serving a client (whereas agents and managers tend to take a percentage of their client's gross income). Publicists can be at local, regional or national level. They can also have special expertise in areas such as entertainment or literary publicity.

One of the publicist's main functions is to generate press coverage on behalf of clients and to serve as the bridge between clients, their public and media outlets. A publicist writes press releases, manages campaigns and performs other public relations functions. It usually takes many years to develop the media contacts, experience and relationships necessary to be an effective publicist.
Some publicists specialize in representing 'ordinary' members of the public to procure the maximum possible fee for stories they wish to sell to newspapers, television stations and magazines. A number have now sprung up on the internet and work as media agents gaining members of the public multiple 'deals' with publications.
An older meaning of the term is closer to pamphleteer: someone who circulates ideas by publishing them, perhaps in ephemeral forms.

This definition gives you the basic break down, now there are some firms that go above and beyond to assist their client’s even help manager their career.  A publicist will help with image consulting, image branding, and various other aspects of your career but for the most part they are there to expose you to the media in a positive light.

Big Play Ent/ Universal Republic Recording Artist YC World Wide hit the Certified Digital Gold Mark


Last year around this time Atlanta was invaded by an infectious song entitled "Racks on Racks" by new comer "YC" and in turned made Big Play Entertainment the hottest Independent label in Atlanta, GA, fast forward less than a year later and the single has been certified Gold. It is safe to say that no one saw this coming however this song that took Atlanta by storm has now taken over on a national level.

RIAA Gold download certifications, representing more than 500,000 in DIGITAL song sales, were awarded to seven first-time recipients in March.  Gold plaques went to Interscope DJ Avicii for “Levels,” Columbia quartet Big Time Rush’s “Boyfriend,” Interscope songstress Ellie Goulding’s “Lights,” Syco Records pop band One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful,” Warner Bros. songster Outasight’s “Tonight Is The Night,” Reunion Records Christian group Tenth Avenue North’s “By Your Side” and Universal Republic rapper YC Worldwide’s “Racks.”

Designs by Yagi spotted at the Damien Wilkins Monstar Slam Charity Pro Exhibition Game






November 8th, 2011- Atlanta, GA- The Damien Wilkins Monster Slam Charity Pro Exhibit Game sponsored by Monster I-sport took place on Nov 5th, 2011 at Clark Atlanta to benefit the Boys and Girls Club-  In addition to all of the fans out to enjoy the game. In addition the exclusive jewelry design company Designs By Yagi was spotted being gifted to Damien Wilikins and various NBA players, DTP Recording Artist Untitled and reality TV Show Celebrities Nene Leakes at Saturday's Charity Game in Atlanta. The Proceeds from the Monstar Slam Pro Exhibition Charity Event benefited the Boys and Girls of America.  Design by Yagi wanted to honor the players with bracelets from their exclusive jewelry design as a way of saying thank you for them taking time out of their schedule to raise money for a worthy cause.
